About

As a child, aviation was my passion and something that I thought would be my career. While my goals and ambitions have changed since then, my dream of owning a business had not. I was born and raised in Southern California and entered the construction industry at the age of 20 as a project engineer for a local commercial casework manufacturer. From there I rose to managing projects on my own ranging from casework to doors, frames and hardware, then ultimately into solid surface. Not only did I immediately see the countless possibilities of this industry, but also a need that appeared to be highly compromised: excellent customer service. In creating Prime Surfaces, I made it my goal to combine this need for service and my passion for bleeding-edge technology to create the most seamless and streamlined experience for the customer. We have many projects on the horizon that I know will make people rethink what has come to be known as status quo for our industry. Solid surface fabrication, at its core, is not a new process, nor are we looking to reinvent the wheel. We offer a full-service experience including in-house estimating, project management, engineering, fabrication and installation. Our craftsmen have 65+ years of direct solid surface fabrication experience and an impeccable attention to detail that, as far as I’m concerned, is a prerequisite of a great fabricator, not an attribute.

We have done our best to identify any and all potential problem areas that may occur within the workflow of a typical project, but I started from the other side of the table. I know what may cause problems or delays from our perspective, but I realized I’d never taken the time to put the shoe on the other foot. This allowed us to take a fresh approach and make back-end improvements that have improved efficiency on both sides and helped keep projects on time and on budget.

For example, Prime Surfaces’ employees can access our 100% cloud-based server to view, upload, forward, share, print and even edit documents on-the-go in real-time via their smartphone or tablet. This has opened the door to a truly amazing feature for us. Utilizing our ProLiner digital template system, we can take a digital template in the field and upload the completed AutoCAD file onto the server directly from the job site via wireless connection. After exporting and uploading the AutoCAD file created by the ProLiner, the file can be made ready for production within minutes. In theory, a job can be drawn and released into production before the templater has even left the job site. We strive to transfer this level of synergy between systems into all facets of our production process, but the best part is, most of it will be transparent to you, the customer. I want Prime Surfaces to adapt to your workflow and not vice versa; this is a very fluid industry and we are much the same in that respect.

Much has changed in the past few years in the building industry and I keep hearing that there is zero value added for service. While I do believe this, I don’t believe that a premium should have ever been put on something as critical as customer service. I hope that you will take a few moments to peruse our site and I’m always open to feedback, both good and bad. Frankly, I implore it. The moment a company stops listening to its’ customers and embracing their wants and needs, said company loses relevance.
